Masi Saracini

Opening times:
• from 10th November 2022 to 31st December 2025, from Monday to Sunday 0:59am-11:59am

On the old road between Gardolo di Mezzo and Cortesano there is a sixteenth-century villa with ogival windows, now heavily renovated, which hides the ancient nucleus of the village of Gardolo di Sopra. In the seventeenth century it belonged to Antonio Dal Monte, a well-known aromatherapist from Trentino, who had obtained from the Prince-Bishop the concession for the research and extraction of silver. Upon his death, the investiture of the farm went to his wife, Antonia Saracini. Next to the building is the small chapel dedicated to San Leonardo. According to tradition, the Masi Saracini would have been the seat of the bishop's gastald who administered the mines.
