Waste management

Recycle the present for a cleaner future.

Turn the act of traveling into an act of responsibility: decrease and properly dispose of your waste while respecting the places and local communities that host you.

How? Here are some simple rules that we encounter more and more frequently in our daily lives. Yet, as trivial as they may seem to us, they have a crucial impact on the well-being of our planet. The more informed and conscious our actions, the greater the positive effects on our health and that of the environment. Remember...prevention is better than cure!

  1. Find out about the rules, schedule and collection centers of the locality where you will be staying. Don't worry, all this information divided by municipality can be found here.
  2. If you are just passing through or are on a hike, remember to put garbage bags in your backpack: use them and take them home or leave them in the first available trash can.
  3. Refuse to abandon waste in the woods! Some good and simple rules to never leave traces behind you provided by Trentino Tree Agreement
  4. Always make use of the public trash bins you will find around the city and in the area (also applies to cigarette butts); if you look around before you sooner or later you will find one, even better if it is sorted!
  5. Prevent waste production with smart spending that is rational to your needs.
  6. Avoid buying disposable and plastic products in favor of reusable, recyclable and washable products (e.g., water bottle).
  7. Always prefer digital to paper materials.
  8. Download Too Good To Go and help save store and restaurant food from its sad fate.
  9. Remember that with food scraps you can always opt for great leftover cooking, which in many situations is mirrored by traditional cooking.
  10. Reuse organic scraps to create useful compost for your garden or vegetable garden.
  11. Give new life to clothes and accessories you no longer use: donate or devote to creative recycling.

Recycling

In order for the waste cycle to be virtuous and environmentally sustainable, it is essential that we all work together efficiently with the understanding that

Reducing is better than sorting. It is necessary, for us and for the environment, to start addressing the issue of waste already at the time of purchase: choosing products with less packaging, trying to reuse before re-purchasing, opting for returnable packaging or products on tap, are all choices that reduce waste production.

Differentiating well pays off. By managing waste carefully in your home or at work, you dispose of most of your waste correctly, greatly reducing the residual waste that is not recyclable. Our waste fee system rewards those who produce less residual waste, so it pays to sort well.

What do I have to do concretely?

It is very simple: depending on the type of user, you are given different sized containers and bags. Follow the guide to understand what belongs to the individual waste categories and consult the Dolomiti Ambiente recycling booklet to remove any specific doubts.

Once you have sorted your waste, display the containers on the dates indicated in your calendar. Remember: once emptied, the containers must be returned to your property and not left by the roadside.

Anything left outside the containers, such as bulky or special waste, can be taken to our Material Collection Centres.

Also remember:

If you are passing through, put bags in your suitcase or rucksack to sort your waste and take it home.
