The smartest. Misadventures of an incorrigible wolf.
Sunday 5 November 2023 at the Auditorium Santa Chiara in Trento will be staged "The smartest. Misadventures of an incorrigible wolf"by Teatro Gioco Vita, a concentrate of lightness and irony taken from the work of Mario Ramos, with Andrea Coppone/Andrea Lopez Nunes, with the direction and scenes by Fabrizio Montecchi.
In the thick of the forest a big, bad, hungry Wolf meets the little Red Riding Hood and immediately devises (after all he is the smartest) a diabolical plan to eat it. Without hesitation, he puts it into practice. As he approaches his grandmother's house, he already anticipates lunch: it will be a kid's joke to devour them both...
It seems like the beginning of the fairy tale that we all know, at least until the Wolf (who really thinks he is the smartest), puts on his grandmother's pink nightgown with an orderly cap, and leaves the house, remaining locked out! So tanned and waiting to elaborate a new, ingenious plan, the Wolf (who still believes himself the smartest), just hides in the woods. But the forest, alas, is a very popular place, especially by the characters of the fairy tales, and our Wolf makes embarrassing encounters (the Three Little Pigs, the Seven Dwarfs, the Prince Charming, etc.) that strongly challenge his vanity. Poor wolf! Everyone, instead of being afraid of him, mistook him for a harmless old woman. Fortunately, Little Red Riding Hood is a very kind child and comes to her aid. Oh yes, and he thought he was the smartest!
The smartest is taken from the work of Mario Ramos, acclaimed author of illustrated books for children. A small jewel that is a concentrate of lightness and irony, which makes you laugh and think big and small. The wolf protagonist of this story arouses sincere sympathy because in the face of his declaimed presumption "I am the smartest", he proves, in fact, ungraceful and clumsy. All the other characters he meets do is reveal his weaknesses and make him a very human character. Laughing at him, in whom we can all recognize ourselves, is laughing at us, and this makes us all feel more human. From the misadventures of this wolf we come out with the joyful conviction that life, despite everything that can happen to us, can still be a wonderful adventure.
The smartest person sees on stage a single actor-narrator who, with the help of all the repertoire of shadow techniques typical of the theatrical language of Teatro Gioco Vita and a strongly choreographic quality of movement, interprets all the characters of the story and leads us into a surprising world, where the fabulous and the realistic dimension meet and collide, producing that comic and grotesque effect typical of the story told. The shadowy figures, essential but full of expressiveness and humor, and the language, direct and light-hearted, help to reinforce the themes that history, without moralisms, proposes to us.
