The loop, which can be travelled in either direction, is very pleasant due to its moderate duration and the scenery in which it is set: an ancient pine forest with centuries-old trees not far from the centre of Baselga, now partly redeveloped after the Vaia storm with large expanses of green meadows and wide, well-trodden forest roads, ideal for walking, cycling or with a trekking buggy.The Frog Pond, also restored after the storm, has a wooden jetty from which one can observe aquatic insect species, a few small fish and in the right season tadpoles, which will one day become frogs, from which the name of this particular stretch of water originates. A small and highly recommended diversions takes you to the panoramic balcony of Bellavista, where you can sit for a break and enjoy the view over the Cembra Valley and the Brenta Dolomite group, and then continue the loop back to the starting point.

The route in detail

From the car park, take the dirt road between the football pitch and the 'La Capannina' structure and at the first fork shortly after the start, turn right towards Lago delle Rane, as indicated on the signs.
After about 1 km you will come to the first small lake and a little further on the Laghetto delle Rane with its wooden jetty. From here, continue along the road until you come to an intersection with another forest road and continue straight on until you come to a crossroads a few metres further on, where there are signposts for the Bellavista viewpoint. Turn left up to the viewpoint, then turn back along the same road and follow the signs for "Giro di Bedolpian" to the right this time. Continue the loop following the signs until you reach the starting car park again. The proposed circuit is clockwise but can be done in the same way in the opposite direction.
