Tour 859 - Brada

A very physically and technically demanding tour with some exposed passages. In the initial part of the tour there is a steady climb. The tour stops at the Cròs de Mala, a wonderful vantage point with a view of the entire Enchanted Valley (Valle dei Mocheni) and with Lake Caldonazzo in the background.

Author’s recommendation

We recommend stopping at the Ferrugginosa spring (a spring with water rich in iron minerals).

Follow the route anti-clockwise to avoid the more demanding uphill sections.

The route in detail

Starting out from the Piné Ice Rink (Ice Rink Piné), follow the tarmac road in the direction of Faida as far as the first fork on the left in the locality of Cané. You then descend for about 300 m and take the Sas Bianc forest road on the left, which leads to the slopes of Monte La Brada (about 1500 m). Turn back for about 10 minutes along the route taken previously and continue along the forest road, which then becomes a path and leads to Bassa di Costalta. From here, continue to the Masi Stefani along the tarmac road and continue up to below the western ridge of the Dosso di Costalta, where there is a 300m climb that is very demanding (the mountain bike must be pushed by hand as the stretch is being tidied up) and then continue along the "Le Mandrete" forest road that will lead to the Casara hut. From here, the main effort ends to make way for the descent. After Fondi, the road becomes a path that is in the process of being completed; an alternative route to reach the ferruginous spring is to descend for a km along the Costalta forest road and at the first fork, go left along the forest road that will take you to loc. Fovo alto (admire the typical masi (farmsteads), with the small church overlooking the village of Miola). The tour ends by reaching the stadium.
