Panoramic tour of the Piné Plateau
A panoramic tour of the Piné Plateau, passing by the main attractions of the place such as the famous Serraia and Piazze lakes and the pleasant little Buse lake. A recommended diversions for the more 'daring' leads to the Cros del Cuc viewpoint: from here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire plateau, the Brenta group and the peaks of Monte Bondone on one side, and the peaks of the Lagorai mountain chain on the other. There are many rest stops and refreshment points along the route, for those who wish to split the day into two parts with a tasty lunch break featuring local cuisine.
The route in detail
The tour starts at the Baselga information point on Lake Serraia, runs along the north/west shore of Lake Serraia and continues to the second Lake Piazze, passing through the locality of Paludi Sternigo. Once at the dam of the Piazze Lake, take the forest road on the right-hand side to the end of the lake. At the junction with the state road, descend to the right into the subway and continue to the locality of Varda and Centrale on a secondary road. From here a cycle path runs parallel to the main road to the beginning of the village of Brusago, where the third lake on the route, the Buse lake, is located. On the return journey you face an ascent partly along a forest road to Bedollo and then, for those with more legs and who like to do more climbing, you can continue on to Cros del Cuc at about 1500m, with a privileged panoramic view of the plateau and the mountain groups in the distance.
On the return journey, descend along the same road to loc. Varda, where you turn right into loc. Casei to reach Piazze passing the church square. You descend towards the lake of the same name as far as the dam and then cross the state road and climb up into the hamlet of Campolongo and Rizzolaga, passing behind the main church, where you tackle a small zigzag climb to take the Solari road that leads you to Sternigo, Ricaldo and finally to the starting point.
Tour of 27 km and 700m of total elevation gain, avoiding the ascent to the Cuc cross reduces 5 km and 300m of elevation gain.
