Trento Christmas Market

The magical atmosphere of the Christmas holidays envelops "Trento, city of Christmas" with the Christmas Market, the proposals of the museums and the activities dedicated to visitors.

Precious treasures to discover in Trento, where the magic of the "Christmas Market" blends with the millennial history of the city and with the events of the most magical time of the year.

The festive air and the Christmas decorations, the wooden houses and the scent of mulled wine: Christmas envelops the center of the "City of the Council" with a warm atmosphere among precious decorations and a sparkle of lights, in search of quality products and traditional specialties.

Now in its 30th edition, the Trento Christmas Market is attentive to environmental sustainability and boasts the presence of exhibitors with strong artisanal roots and attentive to the enhancement of local food and wine, who know how to refer to the past, also offering ideas for the future.

The first edition of the Trento Christmas Market took place in 1993 and since then the idea of proposing products to "decorate and celebrate" Christmas has grown enormously to become the driving element of "Trento, city of Christmas": a rich billboard of musical and cultural initiatives and events, events with taste, activities for adults and children, various places dressed up and enhanced by lights and decorations.

Places and opening hours of the Christmas Market of Trento

The Trento Christmas Market will take place in Piazza Fiera and Piazza Mostra, with the following opening hours:

Every day from 10.00 to 20.00, while on Fridays and Saturdays only the gastronomic area (food and drink administration) of both squares is open from 10.00 to 21.00; the remaining houses also on Fridays and Saturdays observe the opening hours from 10.00 to 20.00;

Extraordinary openings/closures:

on 24 and 31 December 2024, the entire Market is open from 10 am to 6 pm;
on Christmas Day the entire Market will be closed;
on 7 December 2024, the gastronomic centre, in both squares, will be open from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm overtime, while the artisans/traders centre will be open from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm;
On January 5, 2025, the gastronomic center, in both squares, is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., while the artisans/traders center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Getting there by car:

From the A22 Brenner-Modena motorway, exit at the Trento Nord toll booth or at the Trento Sud toll booth and take the city ring road, following the directions for the historic centre.

Arriving by coach with Flixbus:

The FlixBus stop in Trento is located in via Lungoadige Monte Grappa just a few minutes walk from the offices of the Trento Market, as well as near the bus stop of bus lines 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 with which you can easily reach the squares where the event is located.

Arriving by train:

The stop of reference is "Trento". Direct connections are available daily with Munich, Bolzano, Verona, Venice, Rome and Naples. From the central station you can easily walk to the historic centre in 5 minutes.
