A place where history meets legend, not far from Trento. The story is that of the Great War, while the legend tells how San Vigilio escaped his persecutors.

Built between 1860 and 1861, Forte Bus de Vela was a major military project designed to control one of the roads leading to Trento. Recently restored, it houses various quarters, a kitchen, depots, cannons and machine guns. There are also many interactive tools that tell the story of the Great War in Trentino, including a large multimedia table. Unarmed in 1915 and occupied by the Germans during the Second World War, the fort stands in an evocative place cloaked in legend. According to tradition, the future third bishop of Trento Vigilio, who lived in the fourth century A.D. and is still venerated among the saints, would have fled from the pagans by opening a breach directly in the rock now dominated by the remains of the fort.

STRENGTH

The charm of the place and the multimedia resources within the structure.
